American Vampire is a DC Comics on-going comic book series published under the Vertigo imprint. Created by writer Scott Snyder and artist Rafael Albuquerque , issue #1 was published on March 17, 2010. Stephen King provided additional short stories at the end of the first five issues. The series explores the history of a new species of vampire, dubbed Homo Abominum Americana by the Vassals of the Morning Star , beginning with the first American Vampire, Skinner Sweet . Pearl Jones and Calvin Poole are the only other known vampires of this species. |
